How Estimates Are Calculated
Our calculator uses industry-standard pricing based on water heater type, capacity, fuel source, and installation complexity. Base costs include the water heater unit, installation labor, permits, code-compliant work, disposal of the old unit, and warranty coverage. Installation complexity multipliers are applied for complex installations (30% increase) or relocations (50% increase).
Base Cost Ranges:
- • Traditional Tank: $2,400 - $2,800 (varies by capacity)
- • Tankless: $4,300+ (gas models)
- • Hybrid/Heat Pump: $6,500+
