The problem

A commercial kitchen in Austin had a floor drain that wasn't draining. The before photo shows it: the floor sink full of standing brown water, the grate off, in the middle of a prep area that needs to keep moving. A backed-up floor drain in a working kitchen is a shutdown waiting to happen.

What we found

The blockage wasn't grease or buildup — it was a rag, lodged in the shared drain line that serves the kitchen's three-compartment sinks. Everything the sinks sent down collected behind it until the floor drain had nowhere left to put it.

What we did

We cabled the line and removed the rag, then ran the sinks to prove the drain out. The after photo is the same drain with water running freely into it, grate back in place.

The result

The kitchen's drains flowing again the same visit — no excavation, no torn-up floor, just the right diagnosis and the obstruction gone.
